Why 4 states are experiencing load shedding – Jos Disco

Jos Electricity Distribution Company on Thursday said the load shedding being experienced in Bauchi, Benue, Plateau, and Gombe States is as a result of a drop in the national grid.

It also said its daily allocation has dropped to between 75 to 78 megawatts.

This was disclosed by JED’s Head, Corporate Communications, Dr. Friday Adakole Elijah, in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

He said, “You may have observed load shedding in the last few days. This was due to the low power supply allocation from the national grid.”

According to him, “Our daily allocation within this period was dropped to between 75 to 78 megawatts for our four franchise states of Bauchi, Benue, Plateau, and Gombe.

“This has necessitated us to embark on load shedding of our customers in all our areas of operations in an equitable manner pending improvement in supply from the national grid.

“We urge you not to despair as we hope to give you full supply as the situation is brought to normalcy.”
