KANO GOVT WITHDRAWS SUIT STOPPING EFCC INVESTIGATION OF GANDUJE

...

The Kano State Government has decided to withdraw its lawsuit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which aimed to prevent the commission from investigating or questioning Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State.

In a letter dated July 4th, 2023, addressed to Sanusi Musa, the Kano Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Haruna Isa Dederi conveyed the notice of withdrawal of the lawsuit previously filed at the Federal High Court in Kano.

The letter stated, "We are writing to inform you that the Kano State Government and the Attorney General of Kano State have reconsidered their previous instructions to you regarding the case NO: FHC/ KN/71/2023 between the Attorney General of Kano State and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)."

Furthermore, it instructed Musa and his team not to take any further actions in relation to the case, including appearing in court or filing any legal documents.

It should be noted that the former governor of Kano State had previously utilized the Ministry of Justice to issue a fiat instrument aimed at preventing the EFCC from investigating the controversial dollar video.
