Ex-Governor’s Children Clash With Stepmother In Court Over Property

...

The children and former spouse of the late Idongesit Nkanga, who served as a military governor of Akwa-Ibom State, have submitted a petition to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja, seeking assistance in reclaiming their paternal home.

The four children, named Utibeabasi, Etietop, Lance, and Ini-Idara Nkanga, along with their mother Joanna, have requested Judge O.A. Musa to nullify an eviction order that favored their stepmother, Mosun Nkanga.

According to their lawyer, the youngest child is 25 years old. Mosun Nkanga, the widow of Nkanga, had evicted her stepchildren and their mother from the family residence located in an upscale area of Abuja, citing a previous court order.

Through their lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, the children have appealed to the judge to invalidate the eviction. Effiong stated that the children are currently without a home and recounted an incident where one of the kids was filmed being chased out by Ms. Nkanga during the eviction, as reported by Premium Times.
